Six NBA Teams Reset at Coach as Training Camp Nears
The offseason coaching carousel has reshaped six franchises as the league prepares for camp and the 2026-27 regular season, per ESPN and NBA.com.
Per ESPN, Dusty May took the Dallas Mavericks position after directing Michigan to the NCAA national championship in spring 2026, succeeding Jason Kidd. Per ESPN, Tiago Splitter moved to the Chicago Bulls after an interim stint with Portland, where he compiled a 42-40 record, replacing Billy Donovan. Per ESPN, Taylor Jenkins, who posted a 250-214 record during his tenure with the Memphis Grizzlies, was hired by the Milwaukee Bucks to replace Doc Rivers.
Per NBA.com, Sean Sweeney was named to lead the Orlando Magic, taking over from Jamahl Mosley, who himself moved to the New Orleans Pelicans, while Micah Nori became head coach of the Portland Trail Blazers.
