Rams Acquire Garrett in Blockbuster Defensive Trade
The Rams traded for All-Pro edge rusher Myles Garrett, per ESPN, a major addition to their defensive front alongside Aaron Donald's return from retirement, per NFL.com.
The Rams have made a bold move on defence. Per ESPN, they acquired All-Pro defensive end Myles Garrett from the Browns in exchange for defensive end Jared Verse and multiple draft picks: a 2027 first-rounder, a 2028 second-rounder and a 2029 third-rounder.
The trade pairs Garrett with Aaron Donald, who per NFL.com signed a one-year deal worth $20 million with incentives that can push the value to $30 million. Donald came out of retirement after two seasons away to rejoin the Rams, per NFL.com, creating a pairing of two accomplished pass rushers.
Garrett, an All-Pro defender per ESPN, fills a clear need on Los Angeles's edge. The price was steep, including a first-round pick, per ESPN.
